Steve Begley performs as “Skip Flatt.” He is a Central New Jersey businessman who enjoyed the “Folk Scene” in college in the 1960s but put his guitar down afterward to raise a family.
In 2003 he re-discovered his old Gibson J-50 gathering dust in the attic. After a new set of strings and a little practice, he started playing at local clubs and festivals.
“Skip” specializes in Piedmont-Style finger-picking. His repertoire can best be described as “Covering Americana” - featuring traditional folk music, old-time rags & blues.
